My friend, Laurie, and I finally celebrated her February birthday after postponing lunch several times for "crises." Laurie's the epitome of a Wild WE but right now she's in a "place." Sitting across the table, I listened to Laurie talk about work, her husband, her teen-aged daughter and baby son but I saw the signs … no time for herself. Her natural blonde hair was long overdue for shaping. Her usually flawless skin had blemishes and there were dark circles under her eyes. She’d uncharacteristically gained a lot of weight. "Okay," I (Dr. Charlotte) said, "what are you doing for stress?" Easy for me recommend working out or getting away or whatever … but isn't it true that if you take a little precious time for yourself to recharge, you'll benefit and so will those around you? There's only one you - so like the Oil of Olay's logo suggests, "love the skin you're in™!" Labels: beauty inside and out
